Rayji de Guia is a fictionist, poet, and illustrator.

Her work can be found in Asian Cha, harana poetry, JESCL, Bacopa Literary Review, The Pinch, and elsewhere. She also illustrated for Aurealis and Rogelio Braga’s Si Betchay at ang Sacred Circle (Balangiga Press). Her poetry suite, “Neither nothing nor forgotten”, received first prize in the 2nd Gémino H. Abad Awards for Poetry and for Literary Criticism, and her short story, “Death for Serafina”, received second prize in the 69th Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature.

She was a fellow for fiction in the IWP Alumni Writers Workshop, Amelia Lapeña-Bonifacio Writers Workshop, and GlobalGRACE-UP National LGBTQ Writers Workshop. Recently, she was a fellow for fiction in the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference 2021, supported by The Rona Jaffe Foundation.

In November 2019, she was a poet resident at the 12th season of Sangam House in Bangalore, supported by the Asia-Europe Foundation and Cambodian Living Arts (ASEF-CLA). When safe and possible, she will be a writer resident at Rimbun Dahan in Selangor, where she hopes to complete her first book of short stories.

Currently, she is based in Metro Manila
